First try at Kydex: Speedloader pouch.

First of all, thanks to luvmy40 for his tutorial. Thanks to it I got the nerve to tackle the project... as ugly as it turned out

I got so involved that I forgot to take step-by-step pictures of the process. I'll do that with the next one.

This first pouch is two pieces screwed together. The next one will be one single piece and with luck it will be decent.

What I have learned so far: GLOVES ARE IMPORTANT! then again you just have to grab once a piece of soft kydex to learn the lesson.

Heat Gun will save you lots of work...I guess 'cause I couldn't get one cheap. Northern Tools were out and I am not gonna pay $99 for some super duper Hi Tech heat gun. I aint doing this for a living. I used the pen torch and worked somewhat for small areas.... and don't keep the flame in one place to long and don't get it too close.

Other than that, take your time and keep the toaster oven on so you can go back and correct your mistakes without wasting too much time.

Looks good for a first attempt. A single piece would be a stronger design. Also, I have found the mechanics heat resistant gloves work well and are thin enough to still work the kydex.

Looks good. I spent sometime this afternoon reworking a cheapo kydex holster that was very loose fitting. Took several attempts to tighten up the loose areas, but eventually I got it where I wanted. Not having a toaster oven or a torch, the kitchen oven was called upon ( wife was out ) YES, gloves are important, and if reworking something with rivets, don't touch them once you've heated up the unit. Don't ask how I know this.
