When I was looking for a quality but inexpensive light for my aunt, I stumbled on that Brinkman as well. For the cash it is fantastic. It's not as nice or as easy to use as my Surefires, but for $20 it's awesome.
I have the Maxfire from Walmart and it IS a super good light. I read a review on all tac lights in one of the gun magazines and the Maxfire was third in brightness in lumens from a list of maybe 30 different hi priced brands! I also found a 2 pack of Panasonic CR123A batteries (Maxfire and most other tac lights) at Big Lots for $3.99 1/2 to 1/4 the price of other places !!!
$3.99 is still a bit pricey, tho better than many!! IIRC I bought two boxes of 12 thru Surefire at $15.00 per box ... some shipping of course but they came with something else anyways. So $1.25 per cell (plus a tad for shipping) - say #1.40 each tops.
With supposed 10 yr shelf life - seems worth getting them in bulk.
My previuos msg. may have looked like 3.99 for each ??
The $3.99 for the 2 pack was for 2 batteries so they were 2.00 each. Your bulk purchase ,ie 12/15.00 IS a real good deal !!
