Speed Loader for S&W 642 revolver

I am looking for a five round speed loader that will work with my snub nose S&W 642 revolver. I have been told that not all of them will work well with the snub nose revolvers.

    Thanks.

I think that the Safariland comp I is what you are looking for.

If you are looking for something for concealed carry check out Bianchi's Speed strips too. A little slower to load, but a lot more concealable. I usually carry two of them when I take out my 638.

HKS for any J-frame 5 shot will work. I have 20 year old speedloaders of this brand and they work in my 642.

Try and watch the video on Personal defense TV about speedloaders form Clint Smith. Very informative.

    +1 on the Bianchi SpeedStrips.

Question; "How many rounds do you need to re-load to get back into the fight?"

Answer; "Only one, if that is all you have time to reload."

    Speedloaders

Any "36" loader by HKS should work. There's usually enough wobble in the cartridges to work fine. I see large wood or rubber grips cause more problems with speedloaders than anything. If you're having trouble, try a long cartridge like the DPX. It's easier to guide into the cylinder and the hard copper doesn't get beat up like exposed lead.

I use Safariland Comp-1s. They work great with the factory boot grips.

I checked on line and it appears that the Comp-1 has been discontinued. Do you know whether the Comp-2 will work?
