I forgot to add that issue cuffs were S&W and we had some of them, but we open purchased peerless and that was what we used. That was also going on 30 years ago so don't consider recent info.

I carry a set of Peerless hinged and chained. I also carry the S&W chained in my Tac vest. The Peerless hinged fit larger wrists. Keep this in mind if you arrest women, they may be able to slip out. On the other hand, they have worked great on big fat men when my partners would have had to use 2 chained cuffs. Also, the Peerless cuffs don't fit in all cuff cases like the S&W hinged do because they are larger.

I carry a set of SW chain and hinged and now im lookin to replace the chains and go to hinged for better suspect control. But for arresting women what type cuffs would you use.

ASP, Smith and Wesson, or Peerless. All of them work well. Hinged cuffs are nice but if you get a bigger sized man and try to cuff him in the back sometimes hinged cuffs won't work because he can't put his hands close enough together in the back. If your cuffing them all in the front then I'd go with hinged. Just get a set of each!! haha

I mean I do have a set of SW hinged but I mean Im going hinged for better subject control. And if I put cuffs on someone for transport or for detention they have to be put in the back no matter what. But the question I have is what type would you use on women. thats the reason i carry the chains is for use on larger people so I am cover with that.
