5.11 Tac Pants in Nylon? Input please.

Okay, I'm a freakin' sweat-er and wear shorts late into the season, but the hammer just got dropped and no more shorts to work!

I love my 5.11 regular cotton pants and was wondering if anyone who has the regular cotton version and has tried the nylon version could elborate as to the comfort of the said mentioned nylon version.

    Thanks in advance!!

BTW, literally sweating for you response!

I've been wearing the nylon version for about a month now and they're great.
    I got 2 pairs for $29.99 here, http://www.lapolicegear.com/5tanypabrboc.html

I took advantage of the same sale... great deal if you don't hate brown!

I haven't worn them yet but they feel a lot lighter than the cotton 5.11's. At this price I just had to try them.

I bought some of the poly Class Bs and found them to be "hot" to wear during this past Summer. [Last Spring a local surplus store got a batch in for $10/pair, so I bought some to try them.] I also have the all cotton 5.11 Tacticals and some knock-offs that are also all cotton. I much prefer the cotton.

However, the poly or nylon should be good in the colder weather that we'll eventually get here.

I never ware Nylon, it melts. But the 7 oz rip stop cotton seems to work well in hot weather.

This is exactly one of the reasons I stay away from nylon.

The LA Police Gear links are what prompted my inquiry on these pants. WTH, just ordered a pair of the unhemmed 2 for one deal.

Thanks for the input guys! Once I receive these, (and after I finish with the needle and thread), I'll get back with my own review.

Okay mine arrived late afternoon yesterday, while I was at work.

Opened them up this morning and was quite impressed with the fabric, not quite what I was expecting.

Bummer though upon further observation,...regular straight rear pockets and no tool strap?!

    RATS!!!!

Still a good deal, though for these pants!!

Well I'm done playing "little Miss Seamstres", (yes, I'm multi-talented), and got to wore my nylon brown BOGO 5.11's.

Finish of these are perfect! Hell, they even have the mag pocket on the correct side for me!!

Unfortunately these are not "cut" the same as the cotton versions. I do not have the same loose fit in these nylon versions, for bending stretching, stooping, etc. Granted I'm a big boy and I have some problems with certain regular cut blue jeans fitting me because of my upper legs, (did alot of weight training as a baseball pitcher on my legs).

These will be fine for wearing around town as casual wear, but I will surely blow these out if I wear these to work.

Hmm i wear jeans not 511s ( i aint near tacticool enough for high speed clothes ) but with NYLON 511s and my experience with nylon windbreakers ect.. I just cant help but make a jibe at the Mall Ninja that has " Swuish " LOL . Sorry guys i know 511s are practical and comfortable for some .. its just the image that got me giggling like a schoolgirl .
