It'd fit mounted in the trunk though.

    Product Review:

    PROS:
    -for $20, good deal!
-key back up in case batteries, 4AA (which are included) fail
    -easy operation, combination resettable!

    CONS:
-it WILL require bolting down! (comes with 2 expansion bolts)
    -made in China
-a little bulky for automobile use (could be used in trunk)
-ugly color beige (you could paint it)
-IT'S NOT A FIRE PROOF SAFE!

Sure it is, it's not all that hard to patch a hole in sheet rock, just make sure it get's mounted to the studs.

I guess I could do it in some corner they might not notice. My walls do have some goofy finish on them that might be hard to replicate.

It's not really a problem anymore I just spent my monthly gun money on pinkie extensions and another mag for my P-3AT.

I have two of these in diffferent sizes from Harbor Freight in my house. They are great for casual security for a loaded gun. I first heard about them from my CCW instructor. He worked for a security company and told us he couldn't buy the digital keypads for what Harbor Freight is selling the whole safe for. In my car though, I use one of these:

They are more compact and easier to use in the car. Cable connects to the seat frame. A determined thief could get it open with a claw hammer, but not without making one hell of a lot of noise!

I picked up one of these several months back for $19.99 and it's a decent little safe. Definitely nothing that a determined BG couldn't get into, but decent for the price.

Certainly most any safe is better mounted, but in some cases (renting) it may be difficult to mount. Rather than mounting it, try running some 3/16 steel cable through the safe's mounting holes, then run it through, or around some big object in your apartment. That little cable is some tough stuff, regular burglar tools won't cut it. Squeeze-on cable connectors would be great, u-bolts would work good too, but you need to burglar-proof them.

    UPDATED PRICE!

I went by Harbor Frt again today (my wife reminded me of a couple of other people to add to my safe list).....as I was buying three more of these safes, the clerk informed me that the day after Thanksgiving they will be further reduced to $16.99!

So a good deal is getting better!

I wonder if they'll be reducing the online price any. I'll keep checking.
