Wow what a difference a sturdy belt makes.

I was @ Marshalls today to do some Christmas shopping, and I found a nice designer belt. Pretty stiff, very well made. Best part, it was $9.99

I thought I was going to have to just do with what I had after looking at some ludicrous online prices for gun belts. Most retail stores didn't have anything sturdy enough, and I was glad that I didn't give up my search.

The difference is great. With the new belt it feels like my gun doesn't even move, its on me very securely. FO SHO

You are so right when you say a sturdy belt makes all the difference. I used to only buy the cheap leather dress belts and then I got my permit and started carrying and needed something else. My first "real" belt was from Dillon Precision. I was just amazed how sturdy it was. I never knew it would be this "night and day". Ended up buying another one a couple of years later. Saw in their latest catalog that they have a different supplier for their leather now so I can't speak on the current quality. Getting a Desantis 1 1/2" belt for Christmas. At least that's what I told Santa I wanted. Glad you found something that works for you.

I reccommend the 1 1/2 inch dual bullhide from the Beltman.
Glad to hear that you've found something that is working.

+1 on the Beltman....even a "stiff" off the rack belt is nothing compared to a true gun belt. When it comes to a good belt you get what you pay for - and $9.99 will NOT buy you a good gun belt.....

A good gun belt is not cheap to buy but I think they are cheaper in the long run. A well made $60 -$100 gun belt will probably outlast ten $ 14.99 Wally world specials.

I have bought cheap belts which went to heck in just 3 or 4 months. My UBG belt which I have worn almost every day for several months still looks like new.

Absolutely. For OWB concealed carry the proper belt is as important as the holster.

the only thing is that the belt from marshalls will strech out over time gun belt will not. I use a wilderness tac belt and they are pretty cheap at 35 to 40 dollars.

That is one point I really press when I teach CCW...your belt is the most important part of your carry assessories...without a good belt even the most expensive custom holster won't work.

I also thought that I had found a good gun belt at one of our local stores. It seemed like it was doing the job until I signed up for a tactical training course and one of the requirements was a good "gun belt." So, I decided to break down and ordered the 1 1/2 inch dual bullhide from the Beltman.

How wrong I was. No comparison. Until you wear a real gun belt, you really don't know the difference.

You guys were right, the Marshalls super stiff 9.99 special isn't comfy anymore. Sags terribly. Think I'm gonna order a Wilderness belt.

Should i get the regular 3 stitch, 5 stitch, or the $10 added stiffener?
