    Operation Safe

Operation safe is under way. I have been working on this for a hour now. I guess it's not ideal to use a cordless drill to drill through 3 inches of concreat. I'll have more updates on how it's going later.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get through concreat quicker

Rent or buy a hammer drill and masonry bits. Note the Bits not bit. they seems to dull quickly.

I use a regular DeWalt cordless drill with a masonry bit; it takes no time at all.

I think a lot depends on the type or composition of the concrete. We installed 4 auto hoists . Drilling took 2 hours with a good drill and several bits.

Either get the right tool or the right bits for your current drill.

Renting a concrete drill and bit from a rental shop does not cost that much and you would already be done.

Good luck, and where are the pictures?

Trying to drill through concrete with anything other than a hammer drill is more trouble than it's worth...rent one or borrow one. And you shoudn't need more than one bit unless you are using too much pressure, but if you borrow one from somebody, be kind and buy them a new bit when you're done.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

The right drill and right bit for concrete helps a lot.
