eagle5 has one - I was most impressed when he showed me all it could do - forget exact model but I recall it usefully employs AA batteries.

Have to say - I have been most impressed with my relatively recent aquisition of a Nova-Tec 120 programable.

I have a Fenix L2T for everyday use. I'm pleased with it... especially since it employs the AA battery.

However, it is NOT as bright as my Surefire.

The Fenix lights are excellent value for the money. Truly marvels of technology. OTOH, for a companion to my sidearm, I'd prefer a light (like Surefire or HDS/NovaTac) that reliability is the primary asset instead of value/performance.

I wouldn't hesitate to have a Fenix (or a couple) for my earthquake kit. But my EDC is an HDS and my mightstand bed is a SF.

I have a Fenix L2T, L2D CE, and LOD. They are all outstanding. I just ordered the T1. Surefire is good, but I feel I can get more for less with Fenix. I say get it. According to my experiences and many other's, you will not be disappointed. I know I can't wait to get mine.

I am an LED light only person. I like not having to worry about the bulb burning out or breaking. There are pros and cons to each, incandescent and LED. Personally, I prefer what the LED has to offer and as to what comparisons I might make, I am referring only to LED lights. As far as carrying a flashlight (or torch, which sounds so much cooler), I don't need a flashlight I can run over with a tank (I'll use my Inova LED's for that;). I prefer the greater light output, battery use, and smaller size of Fenix. I haven't had a problem with my Fenix lights. Now, I wouldn't use them as a weapon light if I was in heavy combat like our military, but for on a home defense weapon and EDC they would work nicely. I don't have Fenix on my AR however, I have a Coast 3watt tactical LED even though it is half as bright as my L2D CE (the Coast fits the 1' mount and the Fenix doesn't). I do however find that holding my Fenix and my M&P is very easy.

It really depends on what you are looking for. Fenix is brighter and generally more energy efficient than Surefire, but the Surefire would most likely win in a torture test. I seriously doubt that level of abuse would be reached, much like when firearm torture tests are performed, apart from the test gun the rest of them approach that level of abuse extremely rarely if ever. Again, it is what is you consider the most important that will determine what you think is better.

In my admitedly limited experience (my father has the L2D and the
P3D, both 2006 versions), the Fenix lights are very bright lights for the money, and are very good quality. Would I trust them with my life . . . maybe, probably. Right now however, I'll stick to my 3-4 Surefires. Made in America, and great customer service to boot. I have a SF G2, G3, 6PL, with a 6PD (toothy "strike" bezel) on the way. What can I say. I like my flashlights made in America

My L1D-CE with the Cree LED is always in my pocket. I find it easier to carry and overall more useful (particularly with the AA battery) than my longtime Surefire E2e, tho the SF still sits bedside.

Just got the T1! It is without a doubt the best flashlight I've ever had. SUPER BRIGHT! Long throw. Makes my L2D CE feel small and pathetic. It is built like a tank. I highly recommend it. I bought 20 CR123As for $20 from batteryjunction.com to feed it.

I have a P3A Cree and love it, but I'm interested in a T1 also. Did you order it from the Fenixstore.com and did you find a cheaper source?

Yes, I ordered it from there. I don't think there is a cheaper source.

I've found the best prices on Fenix lights on both Fenix-store.com and Lighthound.com - depending on the sale or promotion that happens to be going on at either store.
