Had a set of these on a 1911 and I thought they helped a lot in concealment. Slimmer than the stock grips and not sticky like the Houge's The Aluma Grips allowed my shirt to just slide over them but yet provided a very secure grip. For me, they worked very well.
Any slim line grip makes a big difference even if it's a small difference. When I first changed to the Wilson Combat slim grip's it made a big diff in the concealment for me, I was surprised. Took several day's to get use to how thin they are in my hand but now I think putting the normal size grip's back on would beak feaky thick until I got use to them again.
Here are a couple of comparison photos. They don't really show the difference, but it is quite noticeable! Both on Kimbers, one a Pro frame and the other a Compact (which has the thin Alumagrips!.

OMO, but I think the grip length may be more of a problem for concealment rather than the minimal difference in those two grip widths...![]()

"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Remember that you need to install special grip screw bushings to use the slim grips. Just FYI in case anybody didn't know that.

They do, but they come with them, and only take a few minutes to change.
I think they helped a lot. It doesn't seem like it would make that big a difference, but it does for concealment. For shooting I like that my fingers wrap around the grip a little more, just seems more controllable.
"Nice grips, weird choice of etching" Rocky
I have slimline VZ grips on my Gov't that are great. My boss has slimline alumagrips on his Officer's model though and they absolutely ROCK. They look good and make a flat pistol even flatter. I would highly recommend them to anyone who carrys any size 1911.
Hey Husker,
That is a sweet looking mainspring housing on the left, who makes it?
It was originally an Ed Brown smooth stainless Bobtail MSH, then golfballed by Chuck Rogers. Front strap has the same treatment. I likes it!
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.
