It's a good idea but what's to keep your assailant from switching to stabbing instead of slashing when they see that it's not working...

If they could make it puncture resistant I would consider one.

Looks like the same glove material used by butchers and meat cutters.

thats stupid.almost any clothing will guard against a knife slash.if you really want to cut someone w/a knife you stab into then slash with out taking the knife back out after the stab.
in other words you have to stab to get through just about any clothing.

Spectra and Kevlar have long been used to protect against cuts in gloves and are superior to many fibers in that respect.

But if the shirt in the photo is any indication, it looks like a loose knit fabric, which might offer some slash resistance, but next to no stab resistance.

As Stormbringer points out, doesn't seem very effective regardless of how you slice it.

There are some cool developments in stab resistant materials. One material I've thought interesting was Turtleskin by Warwick Mills. Basically it is Kevlar, but knitted super tight. They also have Stab Armor.

I have a slash resistant sweatshirt that I wear if I have to go out late, it's the only form of protection I have at the moment.

Naturally the throat is completely vulnerable/unprotected but, hey what do I know?

They need to rename it the "Feel Better" shirt.
