    Lasermax J-Frame Laser

I just installed my lasermax on my Smith 642.

LaserMax: Internal Laser Sight for GLOCK 19, GLOCK 23, GLOCK 32

I must say I'm very impressed so far. I like that the laser is so close to the barrel and above the cylinder vs. below like the CTC solution.

I have one on my Glock 30, but it's the style that replaces the guide rod. Much more accurate than the CTC on my G/F's 642 because it parallels the barrel immediately below. I mainly carry 1911's. Unfortunately the on/off switch they built for those guns blows and won't fit in my quality holsters.

I've been looking at the same model for my 642. It's about half the price as Crimson Trace and looks to me a better point of aim. Not to mention there's no way to block the beam with your finger that high up. I'd like to know if it affects your holster fit at all. I think in some leather holster it might not fit tight enough to use for CC. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

It would certainly not fit in either of our holsters for the 642.
