Its a horrible idea because it only offers one very very narrow point of view of the situation, nothing about leading up to the tasing/shooting etc. With people watching things on TV and thinking its gospel, its a diaster waiting to happen.

One huge :nono: is that even though it might show the knife wielding thug running at you...it is also going to show him actually getting shot and possibly recording for eternity his head exploding.
Which could absolutely backfire on the good guy shooter if/when viewed by a jury.
NEVER!:aargh4:
I would carry it right along with my concealed carry badge....not! That is such a bad idea for many of the same reasons stated above. I could only see that working in favor of the the prosecution.
The good news is that the still camera wouldn't need a flash! Say cheese!
I still don't know if I'm seeing this one. Even at 30 fps (frames not feet) I would think there'd be some issues with overly jerky, blurry video. I mean, watch Cops sometime. The camera man is running with a full-sized camera and you can't see a thing. How much worse would it be with a pistolcam, especially once you put someone under stress where they're constantly scanning their surroundings... Although, it could make for some fun home videos... "Here's Johnny's 4th birthday. Oh, and here's where we had to shoot that home invader. Took almost a whole bottle of carpet cleaner for that one!"
Some other silly LE products we could introduce:
1. Kindcuffs - would measure and record the amount to force used to apply handcuffs and how tight they were on the wrist of the innocent until proven guilty.
2. Flexiboots - wouldn't break the ribs of the Pelosi/Reid/Kennedy/Obama/Clinton constituent that you are trying to subdue.
3. Profanitizer - automatically bleeps any cursing from an officer, so as not to needlessly offend others while apprehending them.

Not in a million years!
if i ever have to shoot someone, the fewer witnesses the better. hopefully it would be my word against a dead bad guy with a gun in his hand.
Ahhhhh... NO!
no,,,,
It would make neat videos for training and entertainment use (i.e., Youtube), particulary of pistol matches.
Other than that, kinda useless.

The best argument that it's a bad idea? The D.C. Police are considering it!! :hand5:
No thanks. I carry AIWB...:embarassed:
Not even remotely close to a good idea for anyone.
