Cell phone holder v. gun belt
I always wear a quality gun belt, 1.25 inches wide, by Alessi or Bulman. My agency just issued me a thin Samsung phone along with a cheap leather pivot-type holder. The pivot ripped away quickly and I bought a holder fitted with a swivel belt clip - an L-shaped clip attaches the holder to the belt. Problem: the thick belt causes the holder to pop up and off - I'll lose the phone any day now. Suggestions?

I clip mine on a belt loop as I have the exact same problem. It allows the phone to move more than I would prefer, but it stays there so far. Been about a month doing it this way. I also broke the other carrier that I had for it. Alternatively I'll clip it on the back edge of my pocket. Wear the pocket edge some, but it works in some situations.

My phones used to fall off my belt if I bent over the wrong way...SEE the i-net for the 'Cliphanger'...I got one and really like it. My wife said no, but after her watching my with mine for the last few weeks, she then decided to get one and loves it...

What he said; haven't found anything to convince me I'd be better served by it clipped to my belt.

I would, but it'd get in the way of the knives clipped in the pockets

I never have and never would put my phone on my belt. I think it looks almost as tacky as wearing a bluetooth headset in public.

I use a tiny Smartcarry and set the phone on vibrate.

This is what I use and I love it. It will fit many types of phones. Flip phones and some smart phones as well. I carry my Motorola Razor in it.
It has a triple lock velcro belt loop. It will not come off the belt! It has a fleece lining so it won't scratch the phone, elastic sides to expand to various phone sizes and even has a card slot to hold a drivers license, credit card or two or CCW permit. It is also pretty thin and for me, doesn't get in the way.
Best of all, only $10. Photobucket is down for maintenance so I can't post a pic yet.
You can get it here from County Comm.com.

The solution is very simple. Go to a Western store or many clothing stores and purchase a leather cell phone holster that has a metal clip that easily will attach to your belt. It should hold almost any brand cell phone very securely. In all truthfulness, I am surprised to hear that this is a problem and that you are not aware of the wide-spread availability of this type of cell phone holster.

shouldn't that knife be in your weak-side pocket? Anyway, I agree the best place for the phone is in your pocket. Belt phones are for office-nerds
