Looking for a little advice from the Sig bunch. Is there a less expensive brand of magazine that is dependable?
Thanks,

The SIG factory mags are made by MecGar.
I'd stick with those.
A pistol is only as good as the mags you use.

Thanks, I didn't want to buy junk and have no experience with who's who.
I'd rather have a few that work than a bunch that don't.

It could be that I'm just lucky, but I have several ProMag magazines for different handguns and have never had a bad one. Only problem I've ever had with them is the one I have for my PM-9 won't hold the slide back when empty. Works fine other than that.

Stick with the Sig Mags, Is your life so cheap, To save a little Money?, Don't
compromise it ,just to save a few dollors. IMHO
quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
That's why I'm asking.
I've noticed that some generic foods at the grocery store are indistinguishable from the name brand, with others the difference is obvious with one bite.
So, on the things that the generic is lessor quality I buy name brand, when the quality is the same I buy generic. Just trying to apply that principle to everything I do. Not compromising for a few bucks, just trying to being wise with the bucks I have

Allow me to give a somewhat different answer...
Top Gun Supply carries Novak mags for SIGs that tend to run about $20, rather than the $40--$50 of SIG/MecGars. I use them for IDPA in my P220 and P226 where they get abused by getting dropped on the ground, in the mud, whathaveyou, and have had absolutely no problems with them.
They also have decent prices on the factory SIG magazines, as well.

I have to second Top Gun Supply. I think that between the stock of SIG parts, prices and their customer service they are a hard outfit to beat!

Yep, try the Novak mags also and see if they function well for you.
Good addition.

MecGar makes the mags for Sig. And the MecGars I have hold 2 more rounds than the "Sig" mags. And they cost less. I have not seen any functional or appearance difference between the two. I have one Pro-Mag that works, but it rattles.
Put myself third on that list then. I'll stick with the OEM in my P220. I've gotten some of mine local at Gellco Outdoors. $24.95 I think is what they have them for there, a couple have come from TopGunSupply. Stainless, and made in Italy, same as the factory ones!I have to second Top Gun Supply. I think that between the stock of SIG parts, prices and their customer service they are a hard outfit to beat!
