    Reusable metal targets.

Up at the family farm all I would really need is a reusable metal targets that would:

    * Not fall apart when it is hit with .44 MAG rounds.
    * Would be safe and would not cause ricochet.

A local gun club has something called a combat course and they have targets like what I'm talking about. Every hit makes a loud "ding!" Are these targets only good for certain calibers?

I know some of you compete in tournimates or just have more experience with this stuff. Please educate me.

These are reactive steel and have to be made to specifics to make sure that u dont have bad ricochet. I think it has to be at a 15 degree angle. they also need to be of armor grade. Here's a site that talks of how to make them.

I built my own range and have been using targets from Arntzen targets for a little over 3 years:

    Arntzen Targets

I've been buying the T520 (AR500) IDPA targets with portable stands and they've held up very well from handguns up close, 7.62 FMJ at 100meters, and 5.56 at 150 meters. I mounted one on a spring loaded mount and it rings like a bell when hit at 300-400 yards.

Buy the best quality you can afford, they'll last and will greatly reduce the chance of bounce back.
