    New Grips

I recently added new grips to my 850 CIA Taurus. I must say I'm very pleased with the results. The grips are Hogue Monogrip. They add a little length and are lighter than the factory Taurus grip. It's also seems to handle the recoil slightly better. However, my aim is off a bit now with the new grips, is that normal? Anyway enough talk.... pics.

I use Trausch stocks on my SP101 and although they are not as soft as Hogues they seem to cut down on recoil a lot better. The Trausch cover the backstrap all the way up to the top (covering the activation pin on the Taurus) and allow a higher grip on the revolver. The higher the grip the less recoil flip therefore more energy is directed straight back.

The low grip may be causing the Taurus to shoot down on you.

I do not know if Trausch makes grips that fit the Taurus. If they did and they go up the backstrap to the top of the frame, I imagine they would need a hole lined up with the LOCK ACTIVATOR....

I'm going to practice with the new grips this weekend. Hope I can get the aim back.

As you can obviously tell by looking - the Hogue grips are much more ergonomic and correct for the human hand.

I have a set of hogues on my colt det.spec. and had them on my older Ruger security six .357 the Trausch fit my hand a whole lot better. Higher grip and no trigger guard bite, even with full house loads in the snubbie.

My hand must not be human...

I could never get any Colt revolver to feel like it fit my hand so possibly my hand is not human either.
