    8 Magazine Pouch...to much?

BAGMASTER - Quality Bags, Cases and Holsters

A while back I considered purchasing an 8 or 6 magazine pouch. Desided not to after I considered how much the mags would be to fill it.

Going to be getting the .40 S&W barrel for my Glock 31. The .357 Sig 15 round mags would work for both calabers.

I've considered these pouches (and 6 more mags) for 3 reasons.

    1) SHTF
    2) Range
    3) Travel / Camping

    Thoughts on the pouch?

PS - Should have been...too much?

Can't you get a waistband sewn onto it so that you can wear it around your midsection?

I don't see any problem with your thinking, that is unless your planning on wearing it. Sometimes you can never have too many mags loaded.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

One can never have too many mags. Something like that pouch would be great for sticking into your range bag, or travel bag, so you could keep your mags separated by firearm. I wouldn't want to wear a pouch on my belt with 8 loaded mags in it though, but that's just me.

    Thanks for the link.

I'm not familiar with the company you linked, but I have four 6 mag pouches for my Glocks and I love them, I store them in my "Go" bag as they take up less space than boxed ammo and use them whenever going to the range etc., approx 360 rounds ready to go- what's not to like. It's probably overkill but I have over 30 G17 mags for my 19/17.

I don't think I would wear the pouch on a belt, maybe make into a bandolier / bandoleer. Might even get it to loop onto a http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...r-holster.html.

I like the pouch for all the options you mentioned. However, the company's shipping cost seems excessive to me ($9.90) so I'm going to look at a local dealer that carries their items to see what kind of price they have.

    Thanks for the link.

I wondered how Bruce Willis carried all those 1911 mags in the movie Last Man Standing. From my count, he needed about 13.

Perfect if you're going to Iraq...

Get one of those 'criss-cross' (over the shoulders) Mexican mag holders.

Stay armed...1-2 mags would be plenty...more for Orlando...stay safe!

One of the reason I never went this direction. Range bag would do the trick for the range. When traveling / camping, 8 mags loaded appears to be a lot.

Leaving the SHTF. For the price (mag prices), funds might be better spent on other options.

I believe a spouse or friend with just a little skill could make something this easy.

Well, I carry 8 M-16 mags in that lovely country ret mentioned. Realistically for civilian purposes 2 extra mags with probably do ya ok. As far as SHTF, your primary weapon should be a long-arm of some sort, pistol a last resort backup (IMO), so you would be better off with more ammo for the long-arm than the pistol.

Ammo and mags build on weight, if you have to do E&E in a SHTF scenario, better to have the weight in something that is more effective than a pistol.

In the event of a single SD shooting (more likely than a SHTF), having 8 mags on you will make for a fun day in court, especially if they are hi cap mags. 136 rounds of HST's... The DA is going to LOVE you.
