    Suspenders

I have been seeing the suggestion of suspenders for those of us with big guts and no butt to hold our pants up. What is the best brands or kinds to get to do the job? Links would be nice if you can provide.

    Thanks in advance

Perry Industrials for me. Best thing about them is the hook to your BELT and not your pants. They actually become part of your carry package.

I've tried several of their models, and my favorites are the Industrials. The front straps are not elastic, and provide a more stable hold. These babies are made for concealed carry, and you don't even have to be a fat guy to use them! They take all the weight off your waist, yet can be worn under a baggy t-shirt.

I spotted 2 pair of Perry Suspenders that are also stamped Dickies at my local Wally World. Bought them both. They are a big help for me and my no butt w/a gut situation. I think I'll order a pair of the industrials that don't have the elastic on the front and give them a try.

No elastic makes a huge difference. Solid platform. It is imperative that you get the version with the clips that hook to your belt, not your pants too.

There are two types of fat men, those that wear suspenders and those that should.

    I wear suspenders........

I have worn suspenders for 20 years. For the longest time I used suspenders with suspender buttons. You can get the buttons that hammer together (logger buttons). Well I got tired of always having to put buttons on my britches so I found HoldUp suspenders. These are by far the best I have worn. I prefer the 2" wide jumbo series.Holdups unique heavy duty 2"x 4 JUMBO CLIP lineup of working man's suspenders.

I realize that these don't clip on your belt and might not help with a gun belt.

I am looking for carry options that don't need a belt because wearing one is quite uncomfortable to me and as I have always said, how can you trust a guy that wears a belt and suspenders when he can't even trust his pants to stay up. I can only be so hypocritical.

I switch from 642 in pocket to 640 OWB in colder weather. Perry Suspenders are integral part of system. Sweater or hoody over the top and everything disappears. I turn back into baldheaded mustachioed old smiley grandpa guy again! I have 5 pair in every color I could get get.

Suspenders aren't just for fat guys. They really take a load off and spread the weight. Servicemen have been wearing them forever!

Indeed they do spread the weight of a heavy gun or anything else carried on your belt. I'm not a fat guy yet I find the suspenders useful for support.

    Perry Industrials for me.
At least for heavier guns, like an all-steel 1911, Perry Industrials are just the ticket.
For lighter guns, regular Perry's do fine if properly adjusted (gun side strap shorter than off-side strap).

If for some reason you want suspenders that suspend the pants waistband rather than the belt, Hold-Ups are the only good choice, but they don't have a non-elastic model.
