Inexpensive Rail Light
Went to local gunshow this weekend. First time I ever saw an LED Rail Light for only $40 bucks.
Got it of course.
Then today did an internet search and found this:
Target Sports Tactical Light Quick Detachable New
Just $29.00 plus S&H.
Oh well, Still glad I got it. BTW it's a One Watt LED. Does pretty good.
Now I need a duty holster that'll accommodate it.
I'd prefer the Blackhawk SERPA (sorry if mispelled) but doesn't seem to have one that fits the full size .40 M&P with Light mounted... Buggers!
Any other suggestions? It'll go on my duty belt.
I think the days of getting "great deals" at gun shows is long over. Now they pray on suckers who get caught up in the mass hesteria of the show. You can almost always find better deals online even with shipping cost.
I got the same one off e-bay a few months ago.
It quit working after 4-5 days.
Found out that the screw-in tail piece (where the switch is) did not make good contact with the body.
Clening the threads and creating a small "burr" made it work flawlessly thereafter. Can't beat the price !!!
If you need more details, PM me.
Good luck on the duty holster, most are molded for the big name lights. It looks like it might be close to a few, you might want to compare sizes before you order a holster.
1. Gun shows don't have good deals.
2. Cheap lights are......cheap.
The thing with lights is they have to be designed to take recoil or they will not last. Even an $80 M3 will not last too long, that's why they redesigned it. If this is for duty as you said and not a range toy, splurge. Your life may depend on it.
+1 totally agree. I just picked up a surefire x200. Absolutly love it
