Surefire warranty question
So, I've used a Surefire E1L as my daily carry light for 6 months now. It's been flawless... just stick it in my pocket and go. Well, I've been clumsy enough to drop it TWICE this week on concrete. It only put a "burr" on the bezel big enough to barely feel with your finger. This got me thinking, "does their warranty cover this type of thing?" I have 2 of their G2's and a Z2 but never dropped them or anything so the thought didn't cross my mind before. Would they fix it if it were MY fault or would they consider this "abuse"? Anyone broke one and dealt with them before?

I have an E2D coming in a few weeks, and my hope would be that they would 'fix' it even though it was dropped a few times. But I would assume their warranty would only cover manufacturing defects and not 'wear and tear'.

SureFire will treat you well, but I wouldn't worry about a burr on the bezel because of a minor drop.
I wouldn't call them to report a 'scratch' on the metal as it doesn't really effect the operation of the light itself.
Consider the light...broken in...

It's like your first door ding on a new car... inevitable. Good tools develop a patina as you use them - wear it with pride.

Oh, I wasn't going to call them about that little ding. That doesn't bother me at all. The light works just fine too. I was talking about IF when the light hit the concrete and it didn't work at that time would they fix it. No big deal, I was just wondering. Thanks!

+1 on the worn in. It gives it character.
I would assume that surefire would cover it for ya.

I ran my U2 thru the washer, the bezel was beat to heck and the glass broken. It came back looking just like new.

Appreciate the feedback guys. I figured that they would stand behind their product regardless. They sure make a quality product that's for sure.
