    Speed strips for .44 Special?

I've got a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug in .44 Spl. Looking for speed strips to allow easier carrying of a reload (have one HKS Speedloader). Wondering if anyone makes a strip that fits the .44 round, I haven't seen any. Any sources?
    Regards, T Bone.

Hello. Sadly, I don't think any are made except the Bianchi Speed Strips for the .38/357 cartridges. At least I've not been able to find any for other calibers.

    Best.

Yeah, I've got 2 of the HKS speedloaders also. They work great but are rather bulky. If you find any please post up...thanx.

Why? 5 shots of .44 should be plenty!

Just kidding... found this on another forum. Not sure how effective they would be. Definitely less bulky...

Yeah, I found that in my search also. Was looking for something more flexible. Looks like we're all in the same boat! And yeah, 5 rounds of .44 sure should do it. I'd hate to be in a situation where it didn't!

Blademan21 the maker of the speed strips shown on the Calguns site is a member here. If you are interested in them you can send him a PM. I have two of them and they work very well. You can see some photoes of mine in this thread http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...more-pics.html

Thanks (and thanks for the reference to the holster too ). I think I'm still thinking more flexible than steel for the clip. Guess I'll have to stick with the HKS loaders for now.

    George,
Thank you for the kind words. Yes,a flexible speed strip is NOT made at this time. The mold alone runs in the neighaborhood of about $25,000.00. And it wears out rather quiclky. I spoke to Mr. Bianchi himself and was advised that the speed/strip for the 38/357 was very costly to produce. My speed strips are powder coated for durabilty. The are also flat as noted.I am also able to modify these to work with .45LC,.454,and .460S&W. Looking at some time next year to manufacture a 6 round .44 speed strip. Thanks again George.

Extra ammo has always been the problem with the CA .44. I used to use an "ammo wallet". It's OK but not fast at all. Speed loaders are bulky. If I ever chose to carry the Bulldogs routinely again, I'd look for a "belt slide ammo carrier". I think either DeSantis or Galco make them in .44. I'd really love speedstrips.

My recommendation is a 2x2x2 ammo pouch. Several makers make, or have made them. Galco is a good place to start. The 2x2x2 beats the Speed Strip for speed.

I dont know why one could be made from leather or Kydex.

Two strips the same size, one punched with holes for the cartridges and the other on a hinge arrangement to keep them in place. Simple, quick and cheap.

    and flexible.

Have you tried looking at stuff sold for CAS? Thats cowboy action shooting. Many of them use 44's and alot use a form of speeddtrip when in compettion.

    Speed Strip for .44 spl

I was just looking for the same thing. Bianchi seems to think they have a speed strip for .44 and .45 according to their catalog but I haven't found them actually for sale.
