    Enjoy,

A new wood to me - Spalted Hackberry. Great pattern to it! Of course it's been professionally stabilized as teh pieces were too light to be trusted without it, but now their hard as rock and good to go!
    Enjoy!

Todays set is in Afzelia Xylay and has a nice mix of the 3D figure and the waterfall figure. A very nice look.
    Enjoy!

Todays set is done in Walnut Burl. A very light color for walnut due to being near the outside of the burl itself (sapwood). Nice depth, lots of burl pattern and a great curly figure. Even a splash of heartwood in the corner.
    Enjoy!

A little bonus set this morning to show you the last blank from another B&W Ebony block. It was gorgeous stuff.

Todays set is the FIRST blank from a new block of Spalted Maple that just got back from the stabilizer. Multiple colors and fine line spalt dividers throughout. Pretty cool stuff!
    Enjoy,
    Sarge

The set for today is Buckeye Burl. I always stabilize my Buckeye Burl as it's a fairly light wood. Its swirling graining pattern gives it great strength, and the stabilizing makes it hard and tough too. I just sent pieces of Buckeye from the most beautiful slab I have ever seen in my life out to be stabilized. They won't be back to me until the 11th or so of Sept. Rest assured I will dive into those head first and not come up for air until a number of sets are done. I can't wait!
    For today, enjoy these.

I wondered about this wood when I saw it in the "raw", but sensed there might be some real beauty in it and bought the misshapen hunk and brought it home. Am I glad I did! This is spalted Hackberry. I've had it stabilized since it was very light and airy, but now it's solid as a rock! I love the way the dark spalt is both sharp at places and more of a shadow in others. I think it's very cool!
    Enjoy the pics!

Todays set is a great lighter set of Buckeye Burl with the roles a little reversed - this set is blonde with a splash of blue instead of the other way around. Great stuff for a great look!

    Hey Sarge,

When are you going to be up and running with P7 grips?

My EDC is an HK P7 PSP and I'm looking for something pleasing to the eye, yet functional.

GB - I wish I had a solid answer for you. I've purchased one to use to fit grips too, but just haven't had the time to jump into it yet. The P7 is next in line right after the Browning HiPower grips I'm developing right now. Hopefully in the next couple of months at worst. I hope.
    Thanks!

I'll second the P7 request - I have really good wood grips for my BHP already, but P7 wood grips are hard to come by.

Todays set is done in East Indian Rosewood. A great, solid wood with a very interesting color - overall brown, but with a hint of rich purple to it. Hopefully it comes across in the pics. Beautiful stuff!
    Enjoy,
    Sarge

As a bonus, here's a set of bobtail Marblewoods that are stippled. I've always thought Marblewood was very cool when used in grip panels.

    Thumbs up

That Marblewood is really different. That's a new one on me. Nice!

Rosewood is such a timeless, classic, beautiful exotic wood.
My piano is Rosewood. Too bad I can't play it. I love to look at it though.
