I've managed to find and secure two blocks with the same colorings albeit different grain patterns. All are beautiful and unique. The others are drying now and almost ready to use. Another month or so maybe, and they'll start showing up on the site.

Since we're on the subject of Ebony's......
Here is a set in Gabon Ebony - the darkest natural wood in the world. This set has some great fine silvery lines running up and down through it. Great stuff!

Todays set is in a fairly simple wood, but one that always looks very cool on weapons - Bloodwood. I love the way this stuff looks up against a black frame. This is a set of ultra thins.
    Enjoy,

    Thanks QKShooter.
I think the next two I do will be some Snakewood. The bobtail set is absolutely GORGEOUS and very high figure. Probably won't be up until monday though. Maybe tomorrow night if I can remember. I like to get up on fridays and hit the shop early so I have the whole day to get things done.

Okay, I'm in from the shop for a minute so I figure I'll put those Snakewoods up.
Snakewood is billed as the "Worlds rarest wood" and is sometime sold by the ounce. True snakewood is only found in one place on Earth - Surinam. More of a big bush than a tree, large pieces are hard to come by, and highly figured pieces like shown here are treasured and can be difficult to find. These were a special order by a customer who wanted to dress up his CBOB with some rare and unique beauty. It will truly be unique now!
    Enjoy!

In my quest to find a reliable supplier for camel bone scales that are large enough to actually fit full size frames, I have a few smaller scales laying around the shop. I use these for smaller grip panels like those found on the Springfield Armory EMP. That is what todays pics show. Every timie I think I've found a supplier, they are either unreliable, can't do it, or are downright crooks and take the money and run. I'm about to drop kick the whole thing and forget it. I've got one more sending me a couple samples of his largest scale size, so we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, enjoy the pics of these! Camel bone is a great Ivory substitute with all of the beauty while being much tougher.

Hey Sarge. No "Ivory Grip Bashing" allowed on DC.
No Ivory VS Camel Bone "Which Is Better?" threads.
I thought you knew better than that.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for the Camel Bone. I think they look awesome against a black frame!

I'll keep checking in Sarge! I'm only 1 1/2 hours from KC and I grew up there, so if you get a set for me, I'd love to come pick them up in person and see your shop!

Sorry for the crappy pics, some day I'll learn to use this 'digital' camera.

I wasn't bashing Ivory, just offering an alternative, that's all. :D
I just picked up my new DW Valor today, and I'll be putting natural elephant Ivory on that since it just looks like it should be a tuxedo gun. Well, that and I have some Ivory just sitting here. Seems everyone would rather have the camel bone.

Today, I take a personal aside to show off my new Dan Wesson Valor and the natural Ivory grips she now wears.
I call it my Tuxedo gun. I feel like I could be playing Baccarrat next to James Bond when I have this thing on. Once the poop hits the wind, he would pull out his PPK and I'd pull this beast out and really square things away. I'd make him wear the PINK tuxedo after that.
Anyway, the grips are thicker than slims, but thinner than full thickness, simply because that's the way I wanted them. I also left the bottoms flat (magwell style) just because I think they look nice on this weapon that way. The Valor is a very nice weapon to be sure, and the Ivory really sets it off.
    Enjoy the pics!
