Well, glad you guys like it. I've already got 6 or 7 designs with more coming. First grips should be up and running early next week.
Todays set is a beautiful wood with some killer figure - Curly Narra. Rich color, DEEEEP curl, and the fact that this wood is hard, make it a great choice not only for grips, but anything you want to add a little WOW value to.
    Enjoy,

Sorry, I've been running a training exercise up in Nebraska since Friday. I'll get something new up tonight. ;)

How about Marblewood? Beautiful stuff with the chocolate veining running through the golden base wood. It's also VERY hard wood.
    Enjoy the pics!

That's different; it almost looks like it's been checkered already. :)

How about some extremely curly Hawaiian Koa? Always beautiful stuff, you get lucky once in a while and find a piece that has this stunning figure to it.
    Enjoy the pics!

Redwood Burl is a great American classic and can be beautiful to boot! It's light but tough with great graining and figure.
    Enjoy!

Here is some Afzelia Burl that I really like. It has great pattern and I think the small bark inclusions really add to the beauty. Enjoy the pics!

Here's another patterned set on a light wood - Black Locust Burl. I really like the combination of the wood with the pattern, but time will tell if others do or not.
    Enjoy the pics!

That seems to be a good wood to use for that process; it shows up nicely. It really does open up a whole new realm of possibilities when you start to think about the different graphic designs that would look nice on a set of grips.

BTW, I feel like a kid before Christmas waiting for my grips and pen to show up. Very excited(!), LOL.

Here's what the mailman dropped off for me on Friday: (please forgive the picture quality; cell phone pics, you know)

Yep, that's my Redwood Burl 1911 grips and my Buckeye Burl fountain pen! (WooHoo!)

And here's how the grips look on my Springfield 1911:

And here's how it looks in the holster:

Two things surprised me; the grips were more "brown" in color than I expected, which was no problem because they look really good against the dark finish -- the other thing is the buckeye burl in the fountain pen - WOW! The pictures on the web site didn't do that one justice.

Excellent, excellent work Sarge and fast shipping too! Thanks!!

Nekron, those look great! I love the different burls Sarge has been posting and I'm actually starting to prefer the way he covers the MSH pin. It just looks cleaner somehow.

Here is a set that was done in some VERY nice and elegant Walnut burl. It's one of those sets that I find myself just staring at - so much going on in there.
    Enjoy the pics!
