Glad you're enjoying it kpw! That's what makes it worth doing. ;)
Tonight I figured I'd show a couple of Mastadon tusk sections that just came in. These are going to yield some beautiful grip sets!

I would be remiss if I didn't wish all of my Brothers and Sisters who wear the uniform of our Armed Services a Happy Vet's day! Thank you for your service and sacrifice! Without you, America wouldn't be on any map.
Hooah!

They're not wood, but I think they're cool none the less. These are Sig P238 grips in faux Ivory with a spider pattern engraved and then filled with black. I like 'em!

This set is done in quilted Maple, but I have also had the Templar shield pattern engraved into the wood and then gone back and colored/filled the engraving. I think they came out well. Just another design that I've been working on.
Enjoy!

How about Asian Satinwood? At first glance you'd call it curly Maple, but on inspection, you'd notice a number of differences from gaining, to color etc. It is a beautiful wood with great figure!

Look at the photos of this Mango, and see if you can get an idea of the depth and shimmer that it possesses. You see how one looks light and the other dark (reversed between the panels in the other pic), it goes to show the light reflecting off the figure down inside. It's beautiful stuff! I just wish I know how to capture it in a photo. At any rate, I hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Good stuff, Sarge and an interesting symbol as well. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Sorry guys! The holiday, having bronchitis, and having over 40 special order sets at once in the shop has tied me up and kicked my behind! :D
Back to the business of beautiful wood though - todays set is done in some very nice Black Locust Burl. A great, solid wood with outstanding figure and pattern. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Todays set is natrual Elephant Ivory done in slims for a recent customer. These pieces really had some cool pattern to them. Ivory is really a LOT of fun to work with, and I love the silky feel they have when done. More gorgeous stuff provided by nature!

Here's a set that I just finished tonight. Genuine Mammoth tooth inset in red Bubinga. This set is for a Para Carry 9, which is one that I do not own. It was interesting getting everything sized right. I love projects like this. Maybe I'm strange, but I get a rush out of holding something that's around 40,000 years old in my hands. It's beautiful stuff!
Enjoy the pics!

How about more spiders? I kinda like the subdued natural creepiness of this spider on each panel of Afzelia Xylay. Interested in opinions from you guys!
Thanks,
