I was contacted by a customer who wanted Ivory, but wanted a little extra "definition" with them sitting on a bright stainless frame. What we came up with was putting the natural Ivory over a slim piece of Buffalo Horn which gives it a "framed" look. I think they turned out quite well and will look great on his pistol! Just more fun in the shop!

I don't remember ever doing Purpleheart with Walnut, but no reason it can't be done. I like mixing woods/materials - I think it's just a cool and different thing to do......

The background wood on that top set looks like walnut; I wonder how it would look if that stripe running through it was purpleheart? Still, very cool! Thanks!

I've worked with just about everything at some point, but always come back to the "naturals".
Man, so much for my anticipation of life slowing down after the Holidays! Time is in short supply. My apologies guys.
Here is what is maybe the most beautiful set of Walnut grips I've ever done. I simply don't have words to adequately describe the elegance of the set. Unbelievable beauty provided by nature in these pieces!

Ivory framed by dark buffalo horn combination on a Stainless firearm. Very nice.

The grips here are terrific. Are the grips in #1178 flat on the bottom for use with a magwell? I would like those or a pair in Amboyna Burl for my full size Kimber 1911 with an Ed Brown Magwell. Is anything available?

Sorry Sarge I couldnt resist, those are the nicest burl walnut grips I have seen, I had to have them...... They will sit beautifully on my Baer SRP
