Using grip safety to activate a LaserMax

I know that this can be done (general electronics knowledge) but i dont have the skill do do this on a gun. I read on xd talk Grip safety to act as activator for Lasermax? - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source! that someone sent one of there guns to Powder River Precision POWDERRIVERPRECISION.COM but he never commented on whether or not they could perform the modification. I have just sent them an e-mail inquiring as to whether or not they were successful in the task. But what i wanted to know is who else should i try and contact to see if they can do that.

A great idea, but it seems like a tenuous mod to me. There would have to be mechanical linkage or electrical wiring interfaced to the grip safety that extends past the trigger into or at least behind the recoil rod. Just sounds like a lot of stuff that could fail.

I like the theory and intent, but I think its a bad idea to do so. I'd rather have a seperate pressure pad under one of my fingers, mounted on the front strap. Like Tangle pointed out, its just to many points to fail. I think he is an engineer type, so he just might know what he's talking about.
