This is a discussion on How do you store your guns? within the Related Gear & Equipment forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I've essentially run out of room....
Hide them in drawers and closets.
Gun cabinet or nightstand safe ($20 - $59).
Thin wall safe ($60 - $299).
Small gun safe ($300 - $599).
Medium gun safe ($600 - $999).
Large gun safe ($1000 - $1499).
Extra Large gun safe ($1500 and up).

I voted other.
I built a reinforced gun room in my basement with a double reinforced steel door and dead bolts. The studs are spaced 8'' on center. Inside I built gun racks, shelves, workbench, reload area. I also store my hunting equipment, etc. It is kind of my sanctuary. The problem is...it is NOT fire proof. SO I am thinking of buying a gun safe to put in the gun room to store my guns. wow say that three times fast.

In my state, most homes have a gun or two, so that is what the druggies and other misc. thieves go after. So I have a safe that weighed about 800 pounds empty, bolted to the concrete floor of my garage against a brick wall. Add about 9000 rounds of various ammo and all those guns, and it probably weighs 1500 pounds now. If they get that, they have worked really hard, and those types have an aversion to work, so I think my guns are pretty safe. I also have small handgun safes bolted to the floor in my car and truck for those times I have to leave the weapon behind. Maybe I'm a little paranoid about who gets to use my guns.
I have a nifty gadget that is no loger made. It is a wood veneer LED alarm clock AM/FM radio that has a keypad for a code. Its top hinges up revealing a steel gunsafe...
Holds A 45 or my USPc with SureFire X200b weapon light attached and extra mag and an Emerson CQB-7
Had it for 10 years... wish I could get another... Maybe someone makes something like it now.
Works like charm.
All my weapons are stored where I can reach them within about 5 seconds!![]()

I keep all my guns ,except the ones on HD duty ,locked in a cabinet. I have renforced it with steel cable and heavy lock on the doors. The thing is heavy and cumbersome .
I have a small Stack-On safe mounted on the wall near my workbench and a GunVault in my bedroom.

Has anyone seen the peacekeeper? A local guy/company here in michigan makes them and they are real slick.

I met this guy at a local gun show, and he has been on our statewide show. "michigan out of doors". A real great product for being able to keep a gun loaded and handy with kids in the house.
IF you get a chance check it out. I am going to start a new topic to discuss this.

I have a Sentry gun safe, it says it is a 14 gun, I have almost double that in there now. Safe is bolted to the cement floor and the wall.
My carry gun is in the nightstand draw when in bed.

What im not carrying is locked away in a small locker, something is almost always within reach if not on me:)
I have kids, so the firearms I am not using are stored away in my gun safe, to include rifles, shotguns, and pistols. My carry guns are stored in my gunvault safe when not on my person, usually when sleeping. Usually when I go to sleep, I have my home defense shotgun out and by my safe in my closet. I have my pistol at bedside. Use the pistol in event perp is between me and my shotgun. If I can make it to my shotgun, I go to that weapon to clear the rest of my home. I practice quite a bit, and my wife thinks I'm nuts. I carry a Para P10 as primary with two extra mags, and Keltec P40 as backup with one extra mag.
