Moon clips for a Colt Detective Special?

    Hey all.
Lately I find my beloved Detective special in carry rotation more and more. With the increased duty I'd like to find moon clips that fit. I have speed loaders (the push and twist type) but can't find moonies anywhere local or online.

Anyone have a source or a clue?
    Thanks!

Edit: Forgot to ask: Will others fit, like those for an SP101 maybe?

    BTW,
I'm having second thoughts about having the cylinder machined to accept the moon clips, if I can even find them, so I'm only interested if anyone knows of any that will clear without machine work.

OR..any other alternatives (minus speed strips)
    Longshot, i know....

I'm carrying an SF-VI right now. I have never seen moon clips for them either....

    Are speedloaders not an option?

Speed loaders and practice is about the best option. Worth it because of the excellent Detective Special.

The SP101 is a five-shot revolver. The Detective Special holds six rounds.

I use speed loaders. I just never get as fast with them as I would like, and hoped moon clips could give me an edge.

    Oh well!

Don't feel bad. I'm also a slug with speed loaders.

Speedloaders are definitely not as fast as magazines...have you considered Bianchi Speedstrips or something similar? I've never used them, but a lot of folks on the forums really like them.

I seem to fumble the strips even more than the loaders!
They are more convenient in the pocket though.

I know with practice I'll get better, but it would have been nice to have a shortcut.
