I'm looking for comparison information between the SureFire X300 and Insight XTI Procyon weapon lights. Anyone have first hand experience with either light? Which would you recommend? Thanks.
I don't have a Surefire but do have the Procyon. It's an excellent light and as stated already, the strobe feature is very nice. That being said, I still think the separate flashlight in my weak hand approach might be the better (safer) option. I probably wouldn't have got the Procyon except for the fact I got a great deal on a used one. Another cool toy to play with. :image035:
I would agree that a separate flashlight is better, except for a handgun used as a home defense firearm. In that case, a weapon-mounted light leaves a hand free for doors, grabbing the kids, light switches, and the phone.
I have a Glock light on my G19, which is now my primary home defense gun.
I have the X300 and I love it. Great light, bright and is very secure on the gun. Thinking about possibly selling it if you're interested. Want to buy the X400.
Almost all of my weapon-mounted lights are Procyons.
