    Need a good jacket

    Alrighty will a thousand different jackets out there, I have just spent about 2hrs on the net trying to find one that works for me, but I figured that I would post up on here see what you guys have like and dont like. Here are the stats;

I am 6' 3" about 200lbs with long arms, and looking for a reliable jacket for my OWB carry. Black, Brown, Tan it dosent really matter, I dress around my EDC no matter what. Just a everday throw around jacket that is cheep (under 50 bucks). I live in OK so the winters are not usually as cold as they have been recently but I will adjust if needed. Please feel free to give out your thoughts, my mind is going crazy right now.

what kind of jacket? Blazer? Windbreaker? you might want to look into a big and tall shop for your longer arms and height...

Columbia makes nice jackets... underarmor... Eddie Bauer... Brooks Brothers for blazers...

Windbreaker, would probably fit me and my style the best, I usually stay pretty casual, t-shirt, jeans, sneakers, maybe a hoodie in the winter.

    I beg to differ.

A Carhartt jacket is less than ideal in many conditions and situations.

Here's a good deal on a light jacket... or here.
Here are a couple heavier jackets that are a bit more that $50 but still a good deal.

    Nice finds.

The first two lighter ones are steals....plus you never know when you need to carry 120 rounds of 223 in business casual!

The second two heavier ones have 'the look' so I'd probably steer away from them but I'm sure they do the job.

I found the second one and really like it but I will probably end up getting the first one because it "seems" like its a bit heavier. Thanks for the help.

Try the local Goodwill, or other second hand store. It seems every area has a store that sells last year's style, check those out as well. There is no secret to a coat; make sure it is long enough, has enough material not to print, and is what you like. You don't need a "Concealed Carry Coat." Shirt-jacs, sweatshirts, wind/rain shells, blazers, they can all work.

I would highly recommend the original Field Coat from LL Bean. It's a little more than $50.00, but is nearly indestructable. If it get's colder, I wear a fleece vest underneath. Large cargo pockets, and roomy. I've had mine for over 10 years, and it's getting better looking with age.

Original Field Coat, Cotton-Lined: Casual at L.L.Bean

    Cheers!

I ordered the first one listed here and just got it the other day, it is black (hard to tell from pics) and they do run BIG, I usually need a 2xl in a jacket and ordered an xl in this one and it is a little on the big side. Lapolice gear also has this denim jacket Denim Jackets available for a GREAT PRICES!
I really like it but it runs closer to size, the xl is really a little snug for me. What I like about it is it is cut like a regular jean jacket but it is much longer in the tail. I am 5'11" 225 and 49" chest to give you a reference for size.

LApolice gear is hard to beat for some of those clearance items.

    Take care

    Larrupin
