I just bought a 450 lumen LED flashlight

Found this at a local tool warehouse. It has 3 high output 4W LED's. Less then $40 OTD. I tried it out last night and it lights up my back yard really well and has a nice tight beam. Before I found this one, I was leaning towards getting a 3W LED conversion for my Mag Light. I think I'm going to be happy with this one but it's the first light I've ever owned that uses CR123A batts. should I be worried?

What are you going to do with it? What is the intended application?

Right now it's sitting on my night stand. I bought this one for home use and looking around the yard when the dogs get agitated. If it doesn't disapoint me, I want to get one for each of the cars. Currently using 3D Mag Lights and want to upgrade to something smaller / brighter.

I wouldn't be worried I have several lights that use CR123. To save on batteries, you might want to invest in something like this: AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery

Some online businesses sell those batteries in bulk at a discount. Maglights are so 20th Century.

450 lumens, wow, that's gotta be bright.

Is that available at Harbor Freight?

    Nice find.

Don't be "worried" about your purchase-for the performance/price, it's a good deal if it lasts. (Aint technology grand?) The only thing I don't like about CR123's are the cost and potential availability, but other than that......

Re: Maglites There are good LED upgrades for 3D (and others) Maglites; if anything, Maglites make really good platforms for upgrading.

I have a 3x3W Cree LED drop in on my Magcharger (same size as a 3D but rechargeable externally), and its 500+ lumens *and* has run times of about an hour+ on the stock battery, and upwards of two on the upgraded batteries I purchased for it. (Terralux has a 700 lumen version of this drop-in now too).

For a home defense light-em-up-or-hit-'em purposes as well as general purpose that you can take and charge with you in the car, it's very hard to beat for the price. (Of course, it's not an EDC light.)

Within 7 feet the target bursts into flames, out to 50 yards they just start smoking a little,One good thing about a 5 cell c cell maglite it was a great striking instrument when you didn't have time to draw your PR24 baton

I bought it at ETW (Eastern Tool Warehouse) but I think you need a business account with them to get the sweet pricing. I paid $35 plus tax and picked it up at their warehouse that's a few blocks from my work.
I don't know what what lights they have at Harbor Freight.

This is true and I found out first hand last night when I walked the dogs. There's a block with a steep hill, lots of trees and no stret lights. I thought I would just light up the path ahead and WOW... too bright for that.

Be careful with cr123 batteries they have been known to vent turning your light into a pipe bomb

I only use Surefire CR123 batteries because they are designed for the high output high drain that led lights put on them.

Best pricing I have found outside of mass purchase straight from Surefire, is Lowes you can buy a 2 pack for 5 and some change. They to me are worth the extra fantastic little batteries.

C2 LED Centurion Surefire(pricey for me but worth it, if your gonna spend money on it and rely on it might as well buy quality) thats my 2cents
