    reload for 709 ?

    I just bought a taurus automatic 9mm and am getting back into reloading.Is it ok to reload cast or lead bullets for it?What about plated bullets?Thanks. sj

    As long as the bullet design you want to use feeds through the pistol without problem, yes.

    Plated will probably be easier to feed, but round nose or flat point cast should do OK as well.

    Just keep velocities around 1,000 fps or maybe a little higher.

    Thanks for the info,I've been trying to find some berrys in small ammounts for right now,but it seems like nobody has any.I'll keep looking.for right now I'm looking at about 200 rn's.

    Cabela's carries Berry's. As for small amounts, the standard package for Berry's is 250 count. At least that's all I have ever seen listed anywhere.

    I could not find out if the 709 was Polygonal or Button rifled. You MUST NOT shot cast bullets through a polygonal rifled barrel, after a short while you can get pressure spikes and be shooting through a smooth bore.

    Ghuqu2 is right, make sure the barrel is not polygonal before using cast. Glock uses polygonal rifling , but I'm not sure about the 709 either.
