I don't load 45 yet but I load 9mm and 40. I have used bullseye titegroup unique and win 231. I recommended starting with unique if your new to reloading. I really like 231. I shoot berries bullets, they are cheap and I have run about 13,000 through one particular gun never had a problem.

There's probably no better powder for general handgun reloading than Unique. It works for almost any caliber.
I've been using Hodgdon H-38, which is the same as WW-231, in my G30. I've been pleased with it so far.
Look up some power maker load tables and see what's good for both .40 and .45.

Will check charts sounds like Unique would be a good starter powder for me since im new to loading. ive read alot of good things so far about that brand.

Might suggest that you pickup Lyman's Metallic Reloading Book 49th Edition. Gives you a pretty comprehensive listing of all calibers and various powders with pressure, velocity and bullets.

You simply can't go wrong with Unique for the two cartridges your are loading. My favorite all-around choice.
Unique or Bullseye is what I use. I like bullseye a little better, (cleaner) but both are good.
either one will be good for most any handgun caliber, and shotgun too.
