    Lee powder feeding die? .223

I've been loading 45ACP & 9MM, But I'm preparing to load .223 I can't seem to find a powder feed die for this specific cartridge. I've found out that the case mouth gets expanded in the sizing stage, so I'm aware that I won't find a powder feed expander. My question is that I see Lee does have a 22 rifle powder feed die that is suitable for 223 OAL. Does anyone use this die in their auto disk stage? If so does it work well? Thanks in advance.

If you are using the Auto Disk powder drop, you want the Lee Rifle Charging Die.

If you are using the Lee Perfect Powder Measure, you want the Lee Universal Charging Die.

I load my .223 on a Lee 4 station turret press and use the Auto Disk with the rifle charging die. I have had no problems but you do need the double disk kit and you need to train yourself to use a smooth steady stroke and pause briefly at the bottom to allow the powder charge to dispense fully. It's really just a split second but you do need a slight pause with the larger rifle charges.

Thanks Luvmy40. That is exactly the die I'm referring to. I'm using the Loadmaster Progressive. I'll have to order the double disk kit when I order the die. Im sure it's all out of stock though. I have about 5000 cartridges to tumble & decap and trim in the meantime. Thanks again my good man.

Are your cases military brass or civilian manufactured?

If you have once fired mil(Lake City) brass, you'll need to ream or swage the primer cup before priming. I also like to use a flash hole uniforming tool on all of my rifle cases.

They're civilian. Once fired PMC I bought before things got so crazy. All fired from my Stag. I do have a flash hole tool. So I'm itching to start. I cant load my 45acp until I can hunt down large pistol primers. And I have enough 9mm to last a good bit longer. I suppose I can powder trickle my charges until these items find their way back to the distributors. As for primer cups, I'm anal about those (OCD) I brush every last pistol cartridge too.
