    Favorite W231 9mm loads

I haven't had a ton of experience loading the 9mm but what I have loaded was using AA#2. I got great results but only have a single pound can where as I have an 8 pound keg of W231 so I'm trying to develop a nice intermediate load. Anybody have any favorites they care to share?

I'm trying to find a few standard loads for the 9, 115 FMJ, 124 HP and I'll be putting these through either my Kahr K9 or Taurus P11 G2. I've got a couple favorites using AA2 but want to be able to utilize my 231 stash. I use an old Hornady manual that has quite a bit of good loads, just testing the waters to see if someone has a favorite.

I get good results with my compact semi's using 4.8gn. W231 w/115JHP, RN and 4.5gn W231 w/124 JHP. I worked the load up to get reliable cycling with my single stack compact semis(PPS, PT709 and BP9CC).

Have you ever chrono'd the velocity? Looks like those 2 loads would be clocked around 1050fps, with mild to moderate pressures... good place to start. Thanks much, I'll post my results when I get a chance at the press

    I think I was running 4.3 for 124. Did not try 115.

No, I've never checked the velocity. I just worked up to a good, reliably cycling round and stopped there.

I have a great work up using winchester 115gn. FMJ FB. 4.5 GR. W-231. Also worked up Hornady 124gr. XTP with 4.5 W-231. Both loads are accurate and cycle my m&p 9c perfect. I have some Rainier 124gr RN I'll be working up this weekend with 231 and bullseye. I'll post my results. I just looked through my reloading log book and I show 115gr XTP with a 4.9gr charge giving great results (recoil a little on the heavy side) but as always this worked for me. I would still start at starting load per load data

I just saw my typo. That should read 4.8gn Win231 w/115gnFMJ, RN. Not JHP, RN.
