When I was young and broke..............

And really just getting started reloading, I wanted a tumbler. Seeing a box of junk at my parents home, I got a bright idea when I saw an old BBQ rotisserie. And, with a little work............

The ends of the coffee can have small metal plates punched through in a square shape to fit the rod and make it turn. The inside of the can has some molding pieces to make things tumble inside.

Tried to stay really cheap at first and use sand for media, and found quickly that it didn't work! And also found out that even with corn cob media, this is an overnight process. Still it worked pretty well for this beginner.

When you don't have the means, you make due with what you can. Often times what you come up with is sufficient or even better than what you can purchase.

I always love to see people build their own tools, or anything really. It helps one to really understand what's going on with the process, rather than taking it for granted (coming from an engineer).

You can expand on that with a 5gal bucket and do bulk brass cleaning.

I guess tooth brushing them one at a time wasn't that appealing

A little Brasso and a cotton diaper go a long way.
