Case lube will allways extend case life , carbide dies may " not " need it , but imho its marketing .. lube your cases and go on .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

All rifle sizer dies that are carbide STILL need to be lubed.

The reason is that the tapered case enters into a tapered die and a taper on a taper can provide a very secure mechanical lock.
The lube "breaks" this lock and it does it without tearing off the rims of the cases.

The carbide, being extremely hard, will not scratch or etch as easily as a hardened carbon steel die and its true that it will last much longer with less case marking, but you still have the taper on the taper that is not so easily broken.

Pretty much anyone that has reloaded for any period of time has ripped a rim off of the case and got the rest of the case stuck in the die at one time or another because they forgot to lube the die. On pistol cartridges, most of them are straight so its not necessary to lube when using carbide. With rifle dies, you might get away with it or you might not. The one time that you dont will be a major pain in the tail.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

Hot Guns is right - and I also even with tungsten dies still lube large long cases like 45-70.

Hornady 'One Shot' I find very useful as it is low residue.
