    Tumbler

    Has anyone used a rock tumbler in place of a shell tumbler?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Yes, long time ago, but for me the vibrating type is the best.

    They'll work. Most of them are kind of small though.

    Sure and they are very easy to build if you're a do it your selfer.

    Yep. It will work, but is awfully noisy and much harder to load and empty.(gotta take out all those thumbscrews)

    I use a small rock tumbler, holds about 250 .45 cases at a time. Works fine for me, since I do my reloads in fairly small batches. I use a petsmart lizard bedding walnut media with a couple of teaspoons of car polish (not wax) added, they come out nice and shiny.

    i am curious as to how to make your own tumber. i was considering picking one up this weekend at the gun show but if they are easy to make i would rather do that.
