Anyone reload .260 Remington on a Dillon?
Hey all,
Just picked up a new hunting rifle and want to reload for it.
I have a Dillon 550b and reload lots of handgun ammo. But I'm not exactly sure what setup I need. I can't seem to find the usual die sets and caliber change kit for it.
If you do reload for this cal, what dies/setup are you using?
Thanks,
Allen

The .260 is based off a .308 case.
Therefore you will need the .308 conversion kit. That would be the "I" shellplate and the #1 button.
Calll Dillon ask them about the powder funnel. They will send you what you need. The conversion kit is .49.00.
Any of the major die manufacturers willl work.

Cool. Yeah, after doing some research, I think the .308, 30.06 and .260 all use the same shell plate. I think I'll go with the full length sizer and not just the neck sizer.
I drove to Boise today and stopped in at the Sportsmans Warehouse. They had one set of RCBS dies. I didn't look too closely at them. Gonna try Cabelas tomorrow. I love this town, lots of good stores :)

Do you guys crimp your rifle cartridges? I noticed most die sets come with only two dies, the sizer and the seater. Just wondering if it is necessary to crimp?

That depends on the die set. One set full length sizes it and another just neck sizes. If it's a bolt action, you'll probably want the neck sizer.
