You can double check this load on Hodgdons site. I don't have any .38 loads for you as I only shoot .357 and don't reload for my .38.

For 38spl I use a max load of Unique with a 125gr HP. Usually I don't use max loads, but since all of my pistols are either .357 or rated for +p, I figure I have an extra margin of safety with 38spl max loads.

Max load is listed according to Alliant, but is 3/10 above my Lee manual which says max is 5.3gr.
This is also right at the starting load for +p I believe, so start lower and work up.
