I just got one of these things for picking up brass. This thing really works great. I have only tried it on a hard surface so I'll give you an after action report when I try it on grass.

Used one at a demo. Very unimpressed. Leaves more behind than it picks up. I'll stick to using children as brass slaves.

It must be nice. The only brass MY kids would pick up was what came out of THEIR guns!

My son is a bit too young to go to the range with me, so I have no issues with using other people's children. :)

We have a couple of these at our outdoor IDPA club. Short of terribly muddy conditions, one person with the right sized roller can clean a bay in about the same time it takes four people playing brass monkey to do it by hand. They leave some behind, sure, but it saves a lot of wear-and-tear on the back!

We use the Brass Buggy and it works great.

Picking up brass is rather fun. Our club range is made of brass eating grass and I don't think anything would help short of burning it.

I have 2 girls with me at the range and we make it a competition to see who can get the most brass after our plinking session. To the winner is a new crisp 10 dollar bill.

children as brass slaves
When I was a child at the range picking up brass was great fun. I need to instill the same fun loving attitude in mine.
