From the perspective of many years in the trenches, things have gotten better. Not good enough until all States are "Constitutional Carry" IMHO. But, things are getting better.

My fear, as a seventy year old, is the fear of compliance on the part of those who come after.

Cheer up camper, been going on since the Jacksonian Era (starting 1828). That is 41 years after the COTUS (1787) and 37 years after the BOR (1791).

Even before Jacksonian Era, there were questions concerning concealed arms (it was questioned by some because an honest person would just carry a weapon in the open).

My only point, 2A is not dead, just facing the same challenges all freedoms and rights face, and have faced, and will face.

I was thinking that exact same thing. I left Texas in 1991 after eight years there and, at the time, you couldn't carry a gun, PERIOD. The laws were pretty relaxed on buying guns, but carrying was out of the question. Then Florida got concealed carry and many other states, Texas included, have jumped on board since then.

    Good analogy!

Maybe another might be a long distance "relay race" -- others need to be continuing with the baton.
