I live in Florida and legally you can purcahse and own a handgun at 18 in florida however to purchase one it must be from a private sell not a FFL. I came across wondering say if you buy a gun from a private person but need a FFL to transfer it since your out of state do you have to be 21 or 18-20 since your not buying the gun from the FFL dealer hes just the middle man?
To do the transfer for a handgun, Federal law is 21 years of age.
It may be legal for you to buy the handgun at 18 in Florida. No problem.
Transfering it to anothe state that has the minimum age of 21 is a problem and I doubt that you would find an FFL willing to do it, since the 4473 must be filled out and it says that you must be at least 21 for the handgun and 18 for a longun.
