    Talking Good news for Floridians

I came across this tonight. It's good news for Florida and the rest of us. http://www.groundhog.tv/apps/editor/...9882966820.wmv

"Never turn your back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!"

And, odd as it may sound, a big thanks to the folks at WFTY TV, whose publication of this data in the first place became the rallying point for thousands of us, who bombarded WFTV with calls and emails (which got the data removed less that 16 hours after it was posted) and who followed up with our legislature.

A big, big thanks to Florida State Representative Dennis Baxley (among many others) for hearing our concerns and taking action.

And this thread reminded me to contact my legislators and the sponsor of the bill and thank them.

Might even have to thank WFTV for making it happen. If not for their reckless conduct, many of us would never have known that such a list was so easy to get.

Link works fine for me. Anyways, it is a news item about HB687, which shields CCW license holder's information from public record disclosure. Governor Bush signed it, and it takes effect 7/1/06.
