"Also, she has affirmed forcefully that adherence to Court precedent is a vital command for the Court. And in that light, in my view as a longtime, ardent supporter of Second Amendment rights, it was critical that General Kagan stated during her testimony that the precedents set by the Supreme Court in the Heller and McDonald cases which upheld a personal right to possess a firearm - are 'deeply rooted in this nation's history and traditions' and are 'settled law;' that she has 'absolutely no reason to think that the court's analysis was incorrect in any way;' and, that she will apply these cases as law 'going forward.'"

Didn't Sotomayor say the same thing during her confimation hearings? And how did she vote?
We're all in favor of reducing violent crime. It's just that pro-gunners have a method that is proven effective. Anti-gunners don't.

Now we all know that Kagan wouldn't rule against precedent would she?

As to be expected, snowe is a long time RINO that should join the ranks of the unemployed.

It's still funny to me how folks rail against a judge who might vote against precedent -- when it's a precedent they agree with. Take a court ruling they disagree with and they're all for "activist" judges. Just pick an issue.

Is the Supreme Court irrelevant these days anyway? It would seem so since they make their rulings and if the "powers that be" don't like their decision they just ignore it and rev up the lawyers and the legal teams in order to find a creative way to work around it.

That exact thing seems to have been happening quite a bit recently.

Snowe would endorse Louis Farrakhan for the supreme court. What happened to once beautiful Maine?
