    Well at least it appears Chicago is better than DC's new restrictions

    Someone had posted a link to the "Requirements (read restrictions) placed on people wanting to get a gun in DC.
    From this article it appears that it's actually possible to get a handgun permit in Chigago.

    Technically, it's also "possible" to get a permit in San Francisco. But I imagine both require a fair amount of political influence to get the paperwork to go through...

    It's not difficult to get a handgun permit in Chicago. Takes a little time and money. Carry of any kind is not allowed. That's the next battle to be fought. I think there may have been some confusion in earlier posts re Chicago handgun permits (which allow you to have a handgun in your home) and concealed carry permits (which are not available at present).
