New law being considered in Florida.

I heard on the news last evening that a new law was being introduced that would allow anyone over 21 to carry on college campuses in FL. Tied to this law was an open carry provision for the state in general so that people who choose to carry would not have to worry about a brandishing charge if their gun was showing. At least the reporter sounded unbiased while reporting the story. I hope it passes.

Sounds awesome. Good luck. The country is getting safer...
We're all in favor of reducing violent crime. It's just that pro-gunners have a method that is proven effective. Anti-gunners don't.

"Just because you have the gun doesn't mean you'll be able to change an event or anything could get an innocent person hurt, especially if you don't have the training," says Mascenik.
This is a completely ignorant statement in direct opposition of the facts. Why do we have ignoramuses in charge of safety and security? Sheesh...

It is a shame, but it is what narrow minded people have been taught to believe

Narrow minded yes, I agree with you there Richie, but the guy making this statement is a retired LEO. I can't figure that out at all.

Not all those in LE are as in favor of armed citizens as those in LE that frequent this forum.

Incidental exposure of a weapon is not brandishing, which must show intent of intentional threatening.

One of the problems with combining multiple changes in the law (OC & Campus Carry, etc.) is that it becomes an "all or nothing" bill--everything passes or nothing does. It's risky.
