Michigan residents to action!
At present we have two bills pending action that I feel are significant.
HB 4009 http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(pe1...e=2011-HB-4009
and HB 4010 http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(bem...e=2011-HB-4010
Both bills deal with removal of what is oft referred to CEZ or Criminal Empowerment Zones. Please call your Representative and sign the petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...d.cgi?MIHB4009
Yes I know INTERNET petitions are like spitting in the wind but at least give it a try..

Signed, although I doubt either will pass. Frankly, I'm OK with the sports stadium and school exclusions (although the sports stadium exclusion should be a higher number of people so you can carry in a movie theater), but if I had to choose, I'd choose no exclusions over what we have.

Michigan Lawmaker Would Allow Guns In More Places
Senator Wants To Repeal "No Carry" Law
Here is a link to a story about it, and a kink to an informal poll from Ch. 4
http://www.clickondetroit.com/politi...94/detail.html
once on that page click on the lines that say this;
TAKE SURVEY: Do You Think Michigan Should Repeal So-Called "No Carry" Zone Law?
This almost sounds as though the rep. wants to do away with ALL restrictions, acCording to this, as taken from the article;!!!!!!
Republican state Sen. Mike Green of Mayville on Tuesday introduced legislation that would repeal so-called "no carry" zones such as sports stadiums, schools, churches, hospitals and casinos
GO MIKE GREEN from MAYVILLE!!!!!!!
Petition signed, and am forwarding to all friends and family

The no pistol free zone bills are currently in the judiciary committee of both the house and senate The house bill is 4009 and the senate bill is 0058.
The bill has been introduced before but the judiciary committee chair was anti gun and never moved it out for a vote. With the change in the majority party we now have different committee chairs so it has a chance to get to a full vote anyway.
Here are the email addresses for the Senate Judiciary Committee members: Rick Jones <SenRJones@senate.michigan.gov>, Tonya Schuitmaker <SenTSchuitmaker@senate.michigan.gov>, Tory Rocca <SenTRocca@senate.michigan.gov>, Steven Bieda <SenSBieda@senate.michigan.gov>
Here are the email addresses for the House Judiciary Committee members: Bob Constan <bobconstan@house.mi.gov>, Brad Jacobson <BradJacobsen@house.mi.gov>, Jeff Irwin <JeffIrwin@house.mi.gov>, John Olumba <JohnOlumba@house.mi.gov>, John Walsh <JohnWalsh@house.mi.gov>, Jud Gilbert <JudGilbert@house.mi.gov>, Kenneth Horn <kennethhorn@house.mi.gov>, Kurt Damrow <KurtDamrow@house.mi.gov>, Kurt Heise <KurtHeise@house.mi.gov>, Lisa Brown <LisaBrown@house.mi.gov>, Mark Meadows <markmeadows@house.mi.gov>, Mike Smith <smithmdii@gmail.com>, Pat Somerville <PatSomerville@house.mi.gov>, Paul Muxlow <PaulMuxlow@house.mi.gov>,Paul Scott <PaulScott@house.mi.gov>, Peter Pettalia <PeterPettalia@house.mi.gov>, Phil Cavanagh <PhilCavanagh@house.mi.gov>, Stacy Oakes <StacyErwinOakes@house.mi.gov>
Emails sent to the above members would do way more then an online petition.
